How It Works

1. Player acquires a letter of clearance to be eligible to play.

All Players (no matter Nationality or age) who last played / were registered with another Federation abroad i.e. outside of EU–FIBA International Clearance is required before any license to play can be issued.

2. Player acquires a FIBA player license to determine players eligible level of compensation.

A FIBA A or B License is required for all Non EU residence (under 18 or Senior) playing each season.

Players without a FIBA player license will be considered recreational and only be eligible to become call-up players.

FIBA A License- For Amateur, Semi-Pro and Professionals.

FIBA B License- For High Level Semi-Pro and Professionals.

3. Player gets assigned to a basketball club.

Player gets assigned to a basketball club within the league as an ACTIVE player.

ACTIVE players will have a letter of clearance and FIBA player license that last for entire basketball season.

Call-Up players are players with no FIBA player license but have a letter of clearance.

In-Active players have neither a letter or clearance of FIBA player license.
