Greece Summer League Returns to Laconia!
The heart of sport activities in Peloponnese, after 3 years of COVID 19 restrictions, will beat again in Monemvasia this summer. We are very happy to announce that the best basketball Summer League in Greece returns with a new format and now on we can say that our league is Worldwide famous!
The Summer League is hosted by the Municipality of Monemvasia and is open to amateurs, semi pro or professional players who want to participate in a competitively with great exposure and opportunities for compete in the highest level.
Team participating in LSB 2023 must be of 10 to 12 players. Jerseys and Coaches are mandatory.
LOCATION
The Summer League will take place at the recently built (in 2014) basketball stadium of Monemvasia. The name Monemvasia means “the only emvasis”, the unique entrance to the island over the bridge. An important strategic position, a safe port, a great trading stop.
The Old Town is actually the main sightseeing of Monemvasia. This is a fanstactic medieval town entirely carved on the slopes of the rock, offering breathtaking sea view from the highest spot. Moreover, incredible beaches are found in close distance to Monemvasia. For example, Elafonissos island with the famous sandy beach “Simos”, rated top 10 beaches of the world, is filled with blue-green water.

FORMAT
The Summer League format will consist of two (2) groups of three (3) teams with the top two of each group progressing to the Semi Finals and the Finals (Including Bronze and Gold medal match). Each team will play a minimum of two (5) formal games according to the published FIBA rules and regulations. Each game will consist of 4 * 10 minutes with two professional referees and full statistics analysis on every game. Games will be played once per day.
On Saturday, a dunk, three point and 1on1 contest will take place, with cash awards for every category winner. Two (2) selected players from each team will participate at the contests. The selection of the contenders will be from the tournament scouters and coaches that will attend the days of the tournament at Monemvasia.
Medals, trophies will be available for winners and MVPs.
Matches will be played from 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm every day from Monday until Saturday.
MEDIA EXPOSURE & LIVE STREAMING
The massive expansion of the e-network (Facebook, Instagram, and Website) has led the tournament in the first places of attention. Live streaming of all watches, player interviews, professional photos, podcast after every game, have been planned to support the event.

ENTRY FEE
The entry fee covers seven (7) days accommodation, tournament fees and 24/7 access to the basketball court for training purposes. Training sessions can be arranged only outside match hours. Also, the transportations cost from airport to Monemvasia and way back are included in entry fee package. AIRFARE IS NOT INCLUDED in the entry package. Basketours team is responsible to arrange the bus transfers. Transportations costs are not included for the transfers after the arrival at accommodation. The volunteers of the tournament again can guide you the days of the tournament for renting taxi or busses for day trip to Simos or other places. Closing days for entries is 1st of April and the teams will be confirmed once the 50% of entry fee has been received. The fee is non refundable, only for reasons of force majeure like pandemic of Covid.
VIOLATION OF REGULATIONS
Players who will break the following rules during the event will be disqualified without warning:
- Use of drugs or forbidden substances
- Drive drunk
- Involved into a fight (The days of the tournament and during the game time)
- Caused damages to the apartment
